Tara Thai Joins Busboys and Poets as Retail Tenants of Arts District Hyattsville
EYA is pleased to announce Tara Thai will be leasing restaurant space at Arts District Hyattsville, the 25-acre mixed-use development emerging along historic Route 1 in downtown Hyattsville. This will be Tara Thai’s tenth retail location in the metropolitan area. The trendy restaurant offers a colorful, whimsical dining environment, coupled with award-winning Thai cuisine. Menu selections include such items as gourmet seafood and traditional curry dishes, full sushi bar, as well as vegetarian and kid-friendly entrees. “We are very excited to welcome Tara Thai to Arts District Hyattsville. The addition of another popular, eclectic restaurant brings us closer to delivering the unique urban environment we are creating in the neighborhood. We are certain that Tara Thai and Busboys and Poets will both benefit from the pent up demand for locally owned, destination-style dining establishments,” said Aakash Thakkar, Vice President of Development for EYA. Tara Thai is the fifth business to commit to Arts District Hyattsville. Other tenants will include a flagship Busboys and Poets, Weight Watchers, Woodmont Dry Cleaners, and Hyatts Market. Retail construction is expected to start this fall and retailers should be open by next fall/winter. Other retailers have already opened their doors in the live-work homes of Arts District Hyattsville. Owners of The Book Nook Bookstore, Café Azul, Jay Cee Development, and Gilchrist Group make their home upstairs from their Route 1 retail space. Named “Best Urban Smart Growth Neighborhood” by Professional Builder magazine, Arts District Hyattsville features urban rowhomes, condominiums, rental apartments, live-work homes, and leasable retail space. The community also includes walking trails, playgrounds, community pool, bath house, and The Lustine Center, a 1950’s automobile showroom that was restored and converted to the neighborhood’s community center with fitness equipment, juice bar, and art gallery. EYA has been creating urban neighborhoods in the metropolitan area since 1992. The company has built nearly 2,700 homes in traditional, mixed-income, and mixed-use communities in DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and Fairfax County. |
