Looking to simplify your lifestyle and have more time to do the things you love? Want to be able to lock and leave your home with ease? Modern townhome living can offer residents many great benefits from less maintenance to ideal urban locations near shopping, dining and recreation. Perhaps it's time to (re)consider the benefits of modern townhome living.
New townhomes in DC, MD and VA
Meet your neighbors while walking your dog or at a neighborhood get-together. Townhome community design and shared space provide ample opportunities to foster new friendships and may offer a sense of security when you have close neighbors looking out for you and your home.
2) Less Maintenance
Imagine enjoying beautifully landscaped green space without lifting a finger and spending snowy days by the fireplace instead of shoveling the sidewalk. Townhome homeowners’ associations typically take care of maintenance such as snow removal and shared green spaces.
Spend more time with family and friends, enjoying the area’s attractions and traveling to your favorite vacation spots. New townhomes offer a lock-and-go lifestyle that allows you spend more time doing what you love.
Want more space than a condo but not the maintenance of a single family home? Get the best of both as townhomes can offer the square footage you are looking for without the hassles of maintenance.
Townhome communities, especially in urban areas, often provide easy access to transportation, dining, shopping and nightlife. While you may not want the maintenance of a single family home in your ideal location, a modern new townhome can place you right where you want to be.
Studies have shown that simply climbing several flights of stairs per day may have increased health benefits, including weight loss and improved cardiovascular fitness. While townhome elevators are very useful for bringing in groceries or entertaining on the rooftop terrace, embrace the stairs for added health benefits!
Many townhomes offer optional loft levels or recreation rooms for added flex space. This space may be used for guests, as a library or home office. View Pinterest photos for loft and bonus room decorating ideas.
Townhome communities often include resident amenities such as landscaped green space, children's play areas, clubhouse, fitness center, dog run, pool and more. These amenities not only offer recreation spaces without the upkeep, but also the opportunity to socialize with neighbors and get to know residents within your community.
Many townhomes offer private garage parking where you can park in your garage and step right into your home. No need to lug groceries or heavy items through a condo building or long hallway. When you arrive, you’re home.
Modern townhome living can offer a low maintenance lifestyle in urban locations where you can enjoy the best of life within walking distance®. At EYA, this is more than just a mantra, it's a way of life that many seek and it defines how and where we build our communities.

And while our homeowners have long known that townhomes can offer a low-maintenance lifestyle with walkability to nearby amenities and a strong sense of community among neighbors, a recent article in the Washington Post titled "The new American Dream should be a townhouse" offers perspective on why townhomes are not only a good choice for homebuyers, but for cities and the environment as well.
