EYA Foundation proudly donated 28 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids-in-need through the Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP). The children (who are ages 5-11) are enrolled in MHP’s after-school homework club in Silver Spring.
MHP's homework club provides students a structured and supportive atmosphere for completing school assignments. Literacy specialists also provide small group instruction for children who require more in-depth assistance. MHP serves more than 1,750+ families in Montgomery County with the mission to provide affordable housing, empower families and strengthen neighborhoods.
EYA Foundation purchased the backpacks and supplies, which EYA staff members gathered to stuff. EYA participates in a variety of charitable activities throughout the year—from lending our construction expertise to organizations in need to arranging volunteer and donation events.
