On Friday, October 19, EYA employees gathered for the EYA Foundation's annual Day of Service in Old Town Alexandria. This year's recipient of giving was the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA), an organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and economic opportunities to residents of Alexandria.
EYA staff spent the day at one of ARHA's housing communities providing exterior improvements and painting. The team was able to sand and repaint the trim around the doors for 18 residences and the equipment on two playgrounds. View the video and photos below.
While homebuilding is the primary thing we do, building sustainable neighborhoods is what we love. And that means more than welcoming new homeowners—it means giving back in the communities where we build. The EYA Foundation participates in a variety of charitable activities throughout the year—from lending our construction expertise to organizations in need of support to arranging volunteer and donation events for our staff's involvement.
