The EYA Foundation held its annual Day of Service, partnering with the Salvation Army to help them prepare for their Angel Tree event. Angel Tree is the Salvation Army’s largest annual event which provides Christmas gifts for children. Over 40 EYA employees volunteered at their warehouse helping to sort gifts, prepare gift tags, assemble bikes and stage the warehouse—two weeks worth of work accomplished in one day!

See below to learn more about volunteering for the Salvation Army's Angel Tree and hear from EYA team members about why participating in the Day of Service is meaningful for them.

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree is a holiday assistance program in which an individual or group sponsors a child (angel) and purchases new toys, clothing, shoes, or gift cards for children ages 0-12. Every Christmas there are children who do not receive gifts because their families cannot afford the expense. This program provides assistance to those families and helps make wishes come true for these children.

NaaKoshie"I think it's great to be able to come together with the entire team. We get to bond and work as a team to give back to the communities where we build."

- NaaKoshie B, EYA Design Consultant

At EYA, home building is what we do. But building sustainable neighborhoods is what we love—and that includes giving back to the communities where we build. The EYA Foundation participates in a variety of charitable activities throughout the year—from lending our construction expertise to organizations in need of support to grant giving for local non-profits and arranging volunteer and donation events for our staff's involvement.

Raghab "Volunteering at the Day of Service is not only great team building, but we're also giving back to a great cause, helping so that kids can wake up on Christmas and have gifts and their holiday dreams come true."

- Raghab K, EYA Development Analyst
