Each year, the Coalition for Smarter Growth recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to smart growth development in the Washington, DC area. EYA's President and CEO, Bob Youngentob, was honored with the 2018 Prince Livable Communities Leadership Award at the annual awards reception.

We are honored to announce that EYA was selected Company of the Year at the LOCUS Leadership Awards luncheon. Sponsored by Smart Growth America, the LOCUS Leadership Awards celebrate real estate developers and investors who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to public leadership and development for walkable, sustainable communities.

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle – “America’s tall ship” – will visit Old Town Alexandria September 4 – 8 as part of its East Coast tour. Co-hosted by the City of Alexandria and EYA, the Eagle will dock at the pier adjacent to Robinson Landing.

EYA Foundation proudly donated 26 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids-in-need through the Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP). The children (ages 5-11) are enrolled in MHP’s after-school homework club in Silver Spring. The homework club provides students a structured and supportive atmosphere for completing school assignments.

The EYA Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of its Spring 2017 grant-making cycle. Twice a year, the foundation awards grants to non-profit organizations and private foundations working in the Washington metro area. Grant making priorities include contributions, donations, and sponsorships for programs focusing on disadvantaged populations, job training and education, beautification of blighted neighborhoods, and the rehabilitation of support facilities for the underserved.

The Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) Land Development Council awards program honors leaders in the industry and celebrates creative development projects that are sensitive to the environment and promote best building practices. And for 2016, EYA received two top awards.
