2024 has been a year of growth, community and innovation at EYA. Our efforts have resulted in positive impacts not just within the company, but more importantly, in the lives of our homeowners and the neighborhoods where we build. From launching our first two all-electric communities to welcoming over 190 homeowners to their new homes and giving back to local communities, our accomplishments this year further EYA's mission to create distinctly special neighborhoods that positively impact individual lives and communities in a socially responsible way. For over 30 years, EYA has understood the benefits of townhome living and has built more than 6,000 new townhomes across the greater Washington D.C. area. And while our homeowners have long known that townhomes can offer a low-maintenance lifestyle with walkability to nearby amenities and a strong sense of community among neighbors, a recent article in the Washington Post titled "The new American Dream should be a townhouse" offers perspective on why townhomes are not only a good choice for homebuyers, but for cities and the environment as well.

We are pleased to announce that The Laureate has been awarded the 2024 Jack Kemp Award for Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing. Presented by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Terwilliger Center for Housing, this national award recognizes exemplary developments that demonstrate innovation and creativity in expanding affordable and workforce housing opportunities.

The EYA Foundation held its annual Day of Service, partnering with the Salvation Army to help them prepare for their Angel Tree event. Angel Tree is the Salvation Army’s largest annual event which provides Christmas gifts for children. Over 40 EYA employees volunteered at their warehouse helping to sort gifts, prepare gift tags, assemble bikes and stage the warehouse—two weeks worth of work accomplished in one day!
