At EYA, we take great pride in not only creating beautiful living spaces, but also designing neighborhoods that bring people together and offer the best of life within walking distance. From the beginning of a project, we spend a significant amount of time visioning the overall design of a neighborhood with a view to fostering close-knit communities. The goal is to create a sense of belonging and provide opportunities for residents build long-term friendships with their neighbors through thoughtfully laid out walkways, parks and open spaces that foster interactions and enhance the neighborhood’s cohesion.

Last week, we celebrated the grand opening of The Laureate, a brand new multifamily building developed in partnership with Housing Opportunities Commission of Montgomery County (HOC) and Bozzuto at Westside at Shady Grove Metro. Located at 8005 Gramercy Blvd in Rockville, The Laureate is the first development ever to utilize the County's innovative Housing Production Fund (HPF).

We are excited to announce that The Townhomes at Graham Park has received the Award of Merit for Best Infill Site Plan Solution at the national Golden Nugget Awards. Now in its 60th year, the Golden Nugget Awards honor the industry's top architects, planners, builders and developers who improve communities through exceptional design, planning and development. Winners this year were chosen from over 600 entries.

On Friday, thousands of DMV residents celebrated Bike to Work Day by ditching their cars and opting for a greener, healthier commute. A number of our EYA team members are dedicated bike (or scooter!) commuters themselves and regularly take the trails to work. Menkiti Group and EYA, collectively known as the Providence Reimagined team, announced today that they have been selected by Providence Hospital (campus) as the developers for the reimagined campus, and are kicking off a community outreach campaign to gather feedback from the neighbors on their wishes for the site.

Julie and Will Thompson have a special connection with EYA—two special connections, in fact! Not only are they homeowners at EYA's Townhomes at Cabin John Village, they are also the owners of Celebrity Delly located adjacent to EYA's Graham Park community. Celebrity Delly was started by Julie's dad almost 50 years ago and features a variety of delicious deli menu items in a fun, family-like atmosphere.
