After all the presents are opened and it's time to take down the holiday tree, consider de-cluttering for the new year. Here are 5 tips for de-cluttering after the holidays:

  1. Pack up extra holiday decor that you'd rather not see again and donate it to Goodwill. The non-profit organization will re-sell it next year to needy families and proceeds benefit their job-training programs.
  2. De-clutter your linen closets and donate old sheets and towels to the local animal shelter which will use them to keep pets clean and warm over the winter.
  3. Take an inventory of your wardrobe. If you haven't worn an item in over a year, sell it on consignment or pass it onto those less fortunate.
  4. Make extra room in the garage by donating your vehicle to one of the area's top non-profits and add custom garage cabinets from Tailored Living to tidy up the space.
  5. Consider hiring a professional organizer. The professionals at Lets Move LLC can help you organize, purge, pack, donate and re-sell valuables. They can even help you obtain a total "home inventory" of your household goods for insurance purposes.
