Back from the Dead: Silver Spring’s Zombie Walk

On Saturday, October 24th, zombies are taking over downtown Silver Spring! The 7th annual Silver Spring Zombie Walk is a ghoulishly good time as party-goers wander through the streets and enjoy zombie-themed events.

Zombies will begin gathering at 7 PM on Sligo Avenue next to Jackie’s Sidebar and Sligo Cafe. Pre-walk events include a rally, kids activities and costume contest. The zombie walk begins at 9 PM, making its way through the downtown streets. Be sure to join the Zombie Dance Party along the way! After the walk, head over to the AFI Silver Theatre for the 10 PM showing of the Day of the Dead or to the “After(life) Parties” at Sidebar or The Quarry House.

EYA Foundation proudly donated 23 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids-in-need to the Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP). The children (who are ages 5-11) are enrolled in MHP’s after-school homework club in Silver Spring, MD. The homework club provides students a structured and supportive atmosphere for completing school assignments. Literacy specialists also provide small group instruction for children who require more in-depth assistance.
