This holiday season, EYA homeowners and staff joined in the spirit of giving back by participating in EYA’s annual Toy Drive. Our homeowners and staff generously donated over $2,500 worth of toys to benefit children attending the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s (ARHA’s) annual Winter Wonderland. The EYA Foundation also donated $2,500 in gift cards to the event.
ARHA’s Winter Wonderland takes place at the Charles Houston Recreation Center in Old Town Alexandria. It is a truly special event where thousands of children living in public housing developments are treated to an evening of fun including a visit from Santa and new toys. EYA staff also volunteered for the event, sorting and passing out toys to the children.
This is the 5th consecutive year that EYA has been a donor, volunteer and participant in ARHA's Winter Wonderland.

Angel Tree is the Salvation Army’s largest annual event which provides Christmas gifts for children. Over 40 EYA employees volunteered at their warehouse helping to sort gifts, prepare gift tags, assemble bikes and stage the warehouse—two weeks worth of work accomplished in one day!
