Fall is here and the Washington area is buzzing with Oktoberfest celebrations, local beer festivals and Fall fairs. Here are a few fun upcoming events in your EYA neighborhood.
Northeast DC
On Saturday, October 19th, Union Market hosts Snallygaster, a “gargantuan beer jamboree” featuring over 150 craft beers. Union Market restaurants and food trucks will be serving up tasty eats, including brats, sausages and artisanal hot dogs. Advance ticket packages are sold online or admission at the door is $10.
Old Town Alexandria
Take a leisurely bike ride along the Potomac down to the Mount Vernon Estate for the Fall Harvest Family Days. On Saturday and Sunday, October 26-27, you’ll enjoy reenactments of early settler life, such as wagon rides, apple roasting and wheat treading.
Fairfax
This year, the 9th Annual Merrifield Fall Festival will be held at Mosaic District. Stop by on Saturday, October 19th to enjoy entertainment, scrumptious food tastings, crafts, children’s activities and more. It’s sure to be fun for the entire family!
Bethesda
The 3rd Annual Redwood’s Oktoberfest will take place in Bethesda Row on Saturday, October 26th. Local restaurants will join Redwood in providing over 20 craft beers and festival foods, including brats and pretzels. There will also be live music, giveaways and an Oktoberfest costume contest!
