After months of rumored whisperings and vague status updates from the owner’s themselves, Chocolate City Beer has finally announced the details surrounding their opening and launch party.
After much anticipation from DC beer enthusiasts, Choc City Brew is the second micro-brewery to hit D.C. after the successful DC Brau. The three owners of Chocolate City Beer have been working for the past year to clear out an old building on 8th Street, located just around the corner from Chancellor's Row, to house their "nano-brewery." Now, after receiving all their licensing, they’re finally ready to launch.
Sources say that the small company will producing about 50 kegs per week, which will be available at various neighborhood restaurants. This is a production brewery only, so there is no on-site service available.
The best part about the launch of this new brewery? Their launch party is free and open to the public! Join Choc City Brew on Thursday, August 18 at RFD’s Backroom from 9pm to close. $4 pints all night long!
