The all-new Silver Spring library has set an incredible design standard for libraries around the nation. Designers, county officials and neighbors gathered recently in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the 90,000-square-foot building, which is expected to earn LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Just four short blocks from EYA's townhomes at Chelsea Heights, the new Silver Spring library boasts over 100,000 books, a cafe, computer labs, childrens spaces and activities, as well as a quiet room stocked with the latest magazines and newspapers. An older library location on Ellsworth adjacent to Chelsea Heights is planned for a new urban dog park.

Silver Spring is quite possibly the County's most amenity-rich neighborhood, with an excellent mix of recreation, shops, dining and entertainment venues. Discover for yourself today!
