I can't think of another neighborhood in Washington that does the holidays better than Old Town Alexandria.
The city's historic homes and cobble-stoned streets all adorned in lights and bows simply fills me with that warm fuzzy feeling you get from sipping hot cider as a horse-drawn carriage rolls by.

Starting November 27th - City of Alexandria Holiday Concert Series
Relax during your King Street shopping spree at the City's annual concert series (don't forget to pick up a hot beverage at the Starbucks next door). All performances are free and held outdoors at Market Square, 301 King St.
December 4th - 40th Annual Campagna Center Scottish Walk Parade
For a truly unique Old Town experience, pick a cozy spot to watch over 100 Scottish Clans, pipe and drum bands, Scottish dancers, re-enactment groups, Scottie dog groups, dignitaries and Santa Claus march through the streets of Old Town.
December 4th - Burke & Herbert Bank Holiday Boat Parade of Lights
Alexandria's waterfront amenities are the spotlight at this annual Boat Parade, where more than 50 illuminated boats cruise along the Potomac. Festivities start at 4PM.
December 31st - First Night Alexandria
Celebrate New Year's at this family-friendly event filled with over 100 live performances. New this year: a multi-media finale including lights, music, lasers, video and pyrotechnics. Tickets are on sale now.
