This weekend, Washington area drivers will take part in a worldwide movement to support sustainable transportation by pledging to go car free or car-lite. Car Free Days is an international event that takes place in 1,500 cities across 40 countries to celebrate alternative forms of transportation.
To participate, fill out the pledge to go car free or car-lite on one or more days and use alternative transport such as a bicycle, public transit, carpool or walking. Plus, by simply submitting your pledge, you are entered to win great prizes including an iPad, $250 gift certificate to BicycleSPACE, memberships to Capital Bikeshare and ZipCar, Metro passes and more!
EYA recognizes the benefits of going car free and is committed to building walkable communities. The company recently commissioned a third-party study to measure the true lifestyle benefits of living in an EYA neighborhood. The findings showed that 60 percent of EYA homeowners have an “alternative” commute and 71 percent walk to Metro at least once a week. View more benefits here.
Join the thousands of participants who have pledged to make Car Free Days a success in DC and start living your car free lifestyle today!

Yet Rockville’s pastoral legacy runs deep, where neighborhoods such as King Farm and North Farm refer to their previous incarnations, and Dawson Farm Park combines public open space with the property’s two original 19th-century farmhouse buildings.
