Rafael Muñiz is Chief Operating Officer of EYA. He oversees the execution of our homebuilding and multi-family businesses including design, engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, sales and marketing. Rafael brings over 25 years of experience in real estate development and construction.
Prior to joining EYA, Rafael was Senior Vice President at Regency Centers, where he led their efforts nationally on all mixed-use partnerships, re/developments and investments and the disposition of assets for redevelopment. Rafael was also Senior Vice President at The JBG Companies, where he led an urban residential mixed-use development team that developed over 2,200 residential units and 200,000 square feet of retail. Originally from the Washington D.C. area, Rafael began his career with Clark Construction.
Rafael earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute. When he is not running through the streets of Bethesda, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters.
